Why I Draw

Here is where ideas are made.

African American visual artist

My drawings are studies intended for larger paintings, where compositions are created and destroyed. Here, ideas come to life. For me, drawing is not just about putting lines on paper but rather an exploration process. It involves experimenting with different compositions until a usable composition evolves. Sometimes, it may even mean destroying and starting anew. Through processes, new ideas are born, unleashing creativity.
